Greetings from Anna and Mariia!

Right now we are exploring northern California

We started our round-the-world journey from Kyiv, Ukraine on October 14, 2013 with hitchhiking. During the last six months we travelled throughout 14 countries, logged more than 40,000 km, and got a free ride by all means of transport, including ships and even a plane.

Our route: Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Macau, Hong Kong and now we are in the middle of the road: this is what I want to share with you.

We explored 64 cities and countless people, encountered places and moments that created our way and completely changed our lives.

During this trip we experienced more than during our previous life.

We visited grand construction works in metropolitan areas

Six of us slept in the same bed in a far Chinese village.

We ran away from the Angkor Wat security and penetrated into the highest pool in the world in Singapore

We ate larvae and drank luxurious collection champagne

Sometimes we slept on the street and had only stale bread and water for a meal

We won a fight against three Hindus in Malaysia who tried to rape us and afterwards - got their knuckle-duster as a gift, which became the reason of us being arrested on the border with Singapore.

We fought for freedom in Thai revolution.

Some grandmothers shared a local drug with us during Vietnamese village wedding.

We dined royally in Laos casino and played the war in the Facebook offices

No doubt, we’ll have something to tell our grandchildren. Every day spent on the road has given us invaluable experience and showed places that once in your life you have to see with your own eyes.

We were hosted by hospitable drivers and guys from CouchSurfing, we also knocked into rustic huts and Buddhist temples, put up a tent in the jungle and mountains, and sometimes we saw the sunset and greeted the dawn with never closing our eyes at night.

We sang in the Uighur's bar and became local stars after the first concert, earned money by being photographed with visitors in Chinese clubs, worked as bartenders at a Vietnamese cafe, and became models in Indonesia and painters - in California. Without having much we still tried a lot.
